MEET THE ACTOR: OF MICE & MEN’S BRIAN BOWYER

brianBowyer

Brian Bowyer fell in love with theater after taking an acting class in college. After a performance in his school’s production of Mousetrap, a new passion was born. This passion has matured over the years. Next week, he will take the stage in HITW’s Of Mice and Men as “Curley.”

Brian describes Curley as “a very angry man. He is nervous about everything. He doesn’t trust his wife. He doesn’t trust anyone. He is very short and hates taller people.” Brian believes that Curley was bullied as a kid. At this point in his life, he has the girl and the power. However, at his core, he still has a thriving anger.

Working with the cast has made him take on his role with ease. “The cast is great,” he said. “Everyone here is beyond talented.”

“I believe that with this strong cast and great set which is coming along, true theater is going on in the middle of New Britain,” said Brian. “You will see magic. It is a sad show, but you can still see the joy in it.”

Come see Brian when Of Mice & Men opens on Friday, September 25th. Performances run Fridays & Saturdays from September 25th through October 17th with one Sunday matinee on October 11th.
